“Art can help us find expression for the ecstatic joy of being alive
and thereby help us feel that joy. Art is where we practise being
fully human.”
– Michael Boyd, Artistic Director, Royal Shakespeare Company

Learning with Abby is all about developing creativity in a safe, respectful and energized environment. Students at every life stage open their eyes, hearts and minds to the wonders of the arts; adults discover ways to communicate and express themselves; teachers expand their knowledge base and find new inspirations for teaching drama and music and teaching the curriculum through the arts.

Abby brings over 10 years of arts education and 20 years of performing experience to her role as an arts educator.  Her love of performance and enthusiasm for creative exploration, coupled with the sheer variety of skills she possesses, make her a powerful developer of artistic potential in people of all ages and abilities. She has created and led workshops for such organizations as Learning through the Arts (Royal Conservatory of Music), Kick Start Arts, Waterwood Theatre Projects, DAREarts Foundation, Open Door Arts and VITA Community Living Services as well as being a private voice instructor and guest artist on a vast array of music and drama education projects in schools throughout the GTA and northern Ontario.

Passionate, fun-loving and perennially inspired by her students as much as she inspires them, Abby believes in lifelong learning and artistic growth. She holds a BA in English and Drama from the University of Toronto, an MFA in acting from York University, Grade 9 Voice at the Royal Conservatory of Music and, most recently, Orff Music Teacher Training. Abby is proud to be part of the first class to graduate from the RCM Artist Educator Professional Training Program.
